When I first arrived in Australia as an international student from India, I was overwhelmed by the thought of studying at an international university. The idea of being surrounded by people from so many different backgrounds felt intimidating and, honestly, a little scary. But stepping into Deakin University changed everything for me.

From the start, Deakin’s welcoming environment made me feel right at home. The university fosters a sense of belonging where everyone is embraced with open arms. Regular events and activities brought students together, making it easy to connect with others and share experiences. It was through these moments that I met a fantastic group of friends who have been my support system ever since.

Beyond academics, the adventures I’ve had here have made this journey unforgettable. From late-night strolls around the serene campus to exploring every little corner with friends, Deakin has been more than just a university it’s been my sanctuary. There’s something magical about walking through the beautifully lit pathways at night, feeling the cool breeze and reflecting on how far I’ve come.

The Faculty [of Health] has also played a big part in shaping my experience. Their dedication, support, and genuine interest in seeing students succeed have made learning not just easier but truly inspiring. Their passion for teaching has motivated me to push my limits and embrace challenges with confidence.

Looking back, my time at Deakin has been nothing short of life changing. I’ve grown so much, learned lessons that go beyond textbooks, and created memories I’ll cherish forever. What once felt like a daunting adventure has turned into one of the most enriching and fulfilling chapters of my life. I can’t wait to see what’s next as I continue to make the most of this incredible journey.

Deakin has truly given me more than just an education—it’s given me a home, a family and an experience I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
