Wayne Morris

I started my first Deakin degree in 2007. At that time, I didn’t realise Deakin was barely 30 years old. I finished three degrees between 2007-2016, finishing with a Bachelor of Design, Master of Architecture and Master of Construction Management. After moving to Sydney and starting a law degree first at Macquarie University and then at The University of Sydney, I returned to Deakin in 2023. I’m excited soon finish a Juris Doctor course here.

I feel happy to have been with Deakin for close to two decades, almost half as long as the university has existed. It has provided me with some great experiences over four degrees and I may even wish to do a PhD in the future. The Waterfront Campus has provided me with some great memories, and I have met many amazing people along the way, especially international students from a wide range of countries. Deakin has been a major part of my life for over 20 years, and it may continue to be a big part of my life as I move into my new career as a lawyer. I have seen students and staff come and go over that time, and I couldn’t imagine my life without the relationships and experiences that the University has provided.

Congrats on turning 50!
