One of the unforgettable memories I have from Deakin is when the government announced the COVID-19 lockdown and everything went online in March 2020. It was just a few days after I arrived in Melbourne, I was staying at Deakin Res, and everyone was talking about how lecturers were saying that the classes will be online from the next day onward.
When everyone else was panicking and unsure, I was actually happy about lectures being online as it meant that I didn’t have to wake up hours early to prepare breakfast, get ready and go to class. It meant that I could be in the comfort in my own room and learn without worrying about being late to classes.
Another fond memory I have at Deakin is watching the sunset from building BC at the Burwood campus. I used to go and watch the sunset all the time, either with my friends or alone, and coming back we never failed to get pictures on the iconic link bridge.
