When I first started in Aug 1988, I worked in the Mail Room at Waurn Ponds Campus in a small room in Building JB. We had a franking machine and sorted it all by hand.
It was a great start at Deakin as staff had to come and collect mail from this room or drop it off to us for franking and bagging for Australia Post to collect! I also recall lots of fun times in Finance Branch – especially seeing the Budget Manager playing Santa Claus. Back then I could get around to the entire Waurn Ponds staff to wish them a Merry Christmas!
