I have fond memories of studying nursing at Deakin University in the late 90s. In the practical labs we would analyse the effect of water on urine over time, practise insertion of nasogastric tubes on each other and much more. Things that wouldn’t happen now!
Loved the actors within scenario-based learning, encouraging us to think and discuss just what we would do to respond. I hope they still teach and learn this way now but sadly I think much of the practical side of learning back then may now be deemed inappropriate or too invasive.
