One of my favourite memories at Deakin University has been meeting my mentor, Scott, who is also a lecturer in Sports Management and teaches Events and Venue Operations.
From our very first conversation, he encouraged me to think bigger about where I could take my career and gave me practical advice on how to navigate the industry. Over time, I’ve learnt so much from him, not just in the classroom, but also through his guidance outside of it. Scott has been a constant source of support, sharing his knowledge, challenging me to grow, and reminding me to back myself when opportunities come along. His mentorship has shaped the way I approach both my studies and my professional journey. I’ll always be grateful to Deakin for creating the space where this connection was possible, and to Scott for believing in me and guiding me through some of the most important steps of my career so far.
