Studying at Deakin University was one of the most defining chapters of my life. It wasn’t just about lectures and assignments it was where my passion for sport, leadership, and community found direction.
As a Master of Business (Sports Management) student, I was surrounded by people who shared the same drive to make a difference through sport. The network that was created from this course and the Sports Tuesday concept we had was amazing.
Deakin became the place where I learned how sport can connect people, shape communities, and even drive economies. That mindset still guides everything I do today, from working with Cricket Victoria (where almost everyone including my direct manager and his manager and his manager all did sports management at Deakin) and at other places, to leading partnerships and events that bring people together through sport.
Looking back, Deakin didn’t just give me a degree, it gave me confidence, perspective, and a sense of purpose that continues to shape my journey.
