I completed my Master of Commerce through Deakin University in the late 1990s and early 2000s while working full time. Distance education was the only option to further my education, so I chose Deakin.
Back then it was CD-ROM and dial up modems – I recall the Deakin e-learning toolkit. I remember at my graduation ceremony in 2002, in one of the addresses to the graduating audience and guests, it was announced that Deakin had again won the award for best e-learning or distance education provider. Just goes to show how long Deakin has been at the forefront of innovation in teaching and learning.
Some 16 years later, I found myself again at Deakin, this time as a staff member.
